ComputerHMO Medic Oath
Our company philosophy is based on a belief in helping people and supporting their wellbeing. Like the Hippocratic Oath taken by doctors, our Computer Medics swear to a higher standard of professionalism, customer service, and technological know-how.
Our Oath:
I will apply, for the benefit of infirmed, broken, or crashed computers, all measures that are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.
I will remember that there is an art to maintenance as well as a science, and that warmth, sympathy, patience, and understanding outweigh the software’s limitations or the hardware’s restrictions.
I will not be ashamed to say “I know not,” nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a computer’s recovery.
I will respect the privacy of my patient’s computers, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. I tread with particular care in matters of monitoring, backup, and retrieval.
If it is given to me to save the life of a computer, I will remember that I do not treat a wireless network, a viral growth, or an email gone bad, but an infirmed computer whose illness may affect my client’s family, business, and economic stability.
I will prevent breakage whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to installing a cure and I am committed to having all computers enjoy long life and good health so that they can sustain their owners in all times of need.
I do this cheerfully and with gladness in my heart.
